This art program at AVARY Times Center is a collaborative creation between internationally renowned design firm Gensler and Zhengyin Art, blending world-class spatial design with culturally rooted artistic expression. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Chinese concept of the Kunpeng—a mythical creature that transforms from a giant fish into a great bird—the work integrates symbolic themes of heaven and earth, mountains and rivers, and the heart of innovation (“芯之所象”), forming a contemporary narrative of harmony between nature and the city, spirit and space.
Through the abstraction and refinement of natural forms, this project captures the core values of the enterprise—paying tribute to the philosophy of “formless greatness” and the far-reaching ambition of the Kunpeng. The art does more than shape the space; it gives voice to the company’s spirit. We invite viewers to experience in this work the soaring vision of Avary Holding and its deep resonance with the broader world.
“Drifting Cloud”
Hand-forged copper sculpture above reception desk
Suspended above the reception area, Drifting Cloud is a hand-forged copper installation that draws inspiration from the classical Chinese text Zhuangzi. It references the majestic image of the mythological Kun transforming into a great bird, its wings “like clouds hanging from the sky, stretching for thousands of miles.”
Abstract in form yet powerful in presence, the sculpture flows in layered, sweeping curves—evoking the boundless momentum of transformation. It reveals no fixed shape, only the force behind it: a quiet yet profound expression of rising ambition and unshakable strength.
The piece embodies the spirit of Avary Holding—soaring in vision, grounded in purpose. It merges the elegance of nature with the strength of metal, capturing a moment where form dissolves into meaning, and movement becomes memory.
“Wings Unfurled”
Art installation in the VIP reception hall
Located in the VIP reception hall, Wings Unfurled is a hand-forged copper and cloisonné enamel installation, crafted with exquisite precision and symbolic force. The piece captures the moment when the mythical Kun transforms into the mighty Peng and spreads its wings to ascend—“soaring ninety thousand li with the wind.”
The flowing lines and sweeping curves convey motion and strength, while the interplay of copper textures and blue enamel accents evokes a balance of grace and momentum. Echoing the philosophical image from Zhuangzi, this piece reflects the spirit of Avary Holding—poised, powerful, and resolutely rising.
Together with Drifting Cloud, the pair forms a visual narrative of transformation and ascent. One still, one rising—together they embody the essence of ambition and the boundless journey of a company in flight.
“Song of Ascent”
Custom artwork for the VIP Reception Hall
This bespoke installation, titled Song of Ascent, was created at the special request of the company’s leadership and now serves as a focal point in the VIP reception hall. The piece was inspired by a personal photograph taken by the leader during a mountaineering journey—an image that reflects courage, vision, and perseverance. Based on this photo, the artist expanded the scene into a majestic landscape panorama, capturing both the literal climb and the metaphorical rise of leadership.
A unique design element in the piece is the integration of vertical structures resembling musical piano keys. These “keys” are inscribed with the company’s guiding cultural values, suggesting that leadership is not only about direction—but also about harmony, rhythm, and composition. The visual metaphor positions the leader as both composer and conductor of a great organizational symphony.
This work is both a deeply personal tribute and a powerful emblem of enterprise spirit, celebrating the ambition, foresight, and orchestration that drive a company to reach new heights.
