Artwork Description:
This sculpture centers around a naturally decayed piece of wood, dramatically contrasted by a flowing, mirror-like resin form beneath it. The inner cavity of the wood, worn away by time, symbolizes erosion and the fading of life. Emerging from the base of the wooden ring, the metallic ripple-like resin evokes a spring, a waterfall, or liquid vitality—capturing movement and energy in stillness.
The resin, shaped to resemble rippling reflections, goes beyond mimicking water—it becomes an abstract “stream of life.” It responds to the withered wood not by opposing it, but by transforming it, inviting the viewer to see water as a symbol of life, time, reflection, and renewal.
Through this work, the artist conveys that even what has decayed can be revitalized through creation. Water flows from dryness, symbolizing rebirth and the reactivation of inner force. In the contrast between decay and brilliance, life continues, and meaning is reimagined.
